The Yaris is Toyota’s long-standing super-mini vehicle. It’s always had a reputation for safety and efficiency, but that doesn’t take anything away from its performance. Overall, for a small car, it’s a real pleasure to drive.

So, the Toyota Yaris is not just a “city car”, like many of the smaller vehicles around. It can also handle trips out of town, rides around the countryside, and whatever else you’ll need on your trip to Iceland.

Bear in mind though that the Yaris is a small vehicle. So, if you’re travelling as a large family, or you have lots of luggage with you, it might not be the most appropriate choice. You’ll be better off with an estate or a 4x4 SUV.

Similarly, you won’t be able to drive the Toyota Yaris in the highlands. We always recommend that you use a four-wheel drive to handle the unpaved roads in the region.

That said, the Yaris is the perfect choice for solo travellers or couples who want to see the best of Iceland’s sights.

What features does a Toyota Yaris have?

The Toyota Yaris is a 5-door petrol vehicle, with a manual transmission. It has 5 seats, although it might be a little cramped in the back for larger families.

If you choose a Toyota Yaris, you can expect the following features from the vehicle:

• A valid driving licence, which you’ve had for at least a year.
• A passport, to prove your ID.
